Arlesdale Miniature Railway is a 15 inch gauge railway running from Arlesburgh along the route of the Mid Sodor Railway to Arlesdale. It opened in Easter 1967. As well as the conveyance of tourists by 1/3 scale replica steam locomotives, the intention of the line was also for the movement of waste materials from some of the abandoned mines in the Arlesdale area for use as ballast.
